The Grapevine Story

Since its launch in June, 2021, the newsletter has grown enormously and now serves hundreds of students, teacher, lecturers and professors from over 30 countries. The Grapevine really is powered by teachers. That was its original goal and it always will be. It is a great way to connect the true experts and leaders of our classrooms in the coming years.

Voices from Real Teachers

The University Grapevine focuses on practical lesson plan and activity ideas which teachers have actually tried applying to their own classes. That is what we all ready need right now! See some great example titles here. A lot of topics at the moment focus (unsurprisingly) on online teaching tools and methods, as well as ways to motivate students within higher education.

Fast Exchange of Practical Teaching Ideas

There is a very simple template which ensures articles are easy-to-read, practical in terms of applying them to actual classrooms in our current world, and fairly short in length. This makes the reviewing process (and decisions on reviews) simpler and faster. As ‘practicality’ is the key word, articles are more like demonstrations than data-heavy research articles. Find out how to submit an article here.

Join The Growing Grapevine Community!

It has been very hard for students and teachers to find their feet during the pandemic. Communication and creativity breed motivation and that has become the vision of the newsletter. But, as with most newsletters I’m sure, the ‘family’ feeling created by The University Grapevine is the most gratifying thing. The grapevine is growing every day across social networking services, including LinkedIn and Facebook. We now even have a free online language/culture exchange forum (named Culture Club) for subscribers! Please join us and let’s hope it can be of as much use as possible in the coming years!
